The idea

To create a keyless and up-to-date bicycle lock by means of a fingerprint sensor – also called biometric. In a simple and stylish design.

Keyless

UNLOCKBIKE is a encrypted locking technology safer than keys that can get lost and codes that can be copied.

The main purpose of UNLOCKBIKE is to make it simpler to lock and unlock your bike. You will never have to carry around your key for the lock and in case of losing your key bundle you will still be able to secure and use your bike.

It is a simple reliable process and will in many situations save you time and money.

The finger is your key.

UNLOCKBIKE uses batteries that keep it running and is not dependent on any other power, cable or Wi-Fi.

Biometric sensor and circuit board

An optical or a pressure sensor is used. Both can handle damp/wet fingers. The circuit board contributes to encode the fingerprint and may control the opening/closing function.

1: CORE

The key-free shackle lock is with inside hardened, galvanized and cast steel with a waterproof plastic core, to be seen as a white blank made for the fixation of electronics, mechanics and batteries.

2: STEEL HOUSE

The plastic core is placed in a hardened steel house.

3: PLASTIC COVER

Round, black plastic cover that can be put over the fingerprint reader to protect it from water, damp, dirt, etc.

4: BIOMETRIC SENSOR AND
CIRCUIT BOARD

An optical sensor or a pressure sensor is used. Both can handle damp/wet fingers. The circuit board contributes to encode the fingerprint and may control the opening/closing function.

5: BATTERY

A lithium battery is able to keep its capacity even at low temperatures, and therefore this type of battery must be used. In the long term a further development must be made, so the battery will be replaced by some kind of ’green energy’.

6: DIODE

Under the plastic cover is a small diode, which will up to the running out of the battery show a low battery level, thus indicating that the battery must soon be replaced.
